ObScurus - Survival Horror Music Pack
A downloadable soundtrack
ObScurus, a Psychological Horror game released in response ot the success of Silent Hill at the end of the Playstation's life cycle.
Developed by CAPSoft, the game tells the story of a Woman (Becca) who finds herself searching for her Infant Child in the Grand Hotel 'ObScurus' after waking within her Vehicle in the midst of a fierce snow storm.
Becca most solve her way through the endless mirrored halls of ObScurus while she discovers the truth behind the Hotel's 400 years of Tragedy and Occult happenings. She will meet very few others seeking refuge in the Hotel's walls, but like her they all suffer the same fate and must face their darkest reflections if they wish to find what they truly desire.
The Soundtrack, heavily inspired by Akira Yamaoka, consist entirely of some of the eras most impactful Libraries, such as 'Ambient Realms', 'PitE', 'Bizarre Guitars', and many more featured in today's most widely used Ambient Sound library 'Omnisphere' as well as being accessible through Archive.org. I also took inspiration with Akira's ability to find sounds on his own and create with them his own sonic realms.
Each Track consist of roughly Two to Four different sound samples all of which have been stretched and modulated in ways Akira Yamaoka would have done so himself. Long tape delays, looped reverbs, and constant over tracking all create a mix of horrific soundscapes and beautiful ambience ObScurus uses some of the most iconic 90s sample libraries, all of which were used by Akira Yamaoka. To credit each individual sample used would be tedious, so instead I will list the libraries I used which can all be found on Archive.com Drum ans Bass Interface Distorted Reality Spectrasonics Zero-G Bizarre Guitars East West Sounds XTortion Pandora's Toolbox Ghost in the Machine .
